After two successful years, the call for proposals under the Manchester Met’s Scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) research grants are now open for 2016-17.
The SOTL research grants support and encourage scholarly work that aims to improve the quality of students’ learning. Projects may, for example, examine and evaluate new teaching techniques. Anyone with an establishment teaching role at Manchester Met is eligible to apply, as an individual or as a group.
Applications are also welcome from staff with other learning support roles, although in some cases it may be appropriate to include a colleague with a teaching role in the project team. Applications will be judged by a panel and evaluated against the quality of the proposal contained within the sections of application form. Applications need to be concise and specific, and must include information sufficient for the proposal and its outcomes to be assessed against the stated criteria, in order to demonstrate that the project is desirable, viable, realistic and achievable.
Please download the application form from the CELT SOTL webpage and follow the application instructions. Deadline for applications Friday 24th June.
Please contact Charles Neame at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0161 247 4671 if you have any questions about the scheme or the application process.
