Celebration of our ISO 14001:2015 certification

Manchester Met is the first UK University to achieve the revised and more challenging international Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2015 standard.  To celebrate this achievement we would like to invite all Manchester Met staff to join us at a networking event.

Come along, network with colleagues, and find out about local and citywide sustainability projects. You can also find out about Manchester: A Certain Future, Manchester City’s climate change action plan. The following guest speakers will be welcomed:-

  • Paul Kingsmore, Manchester Metropolitan University, Director of Services,
  • Kate Chappell, in her capacity as Manchester City Council’s Executive Member for the Environment,
  • Dr John Hindley, Manchester Metropolitan University, Assistant Director Estates Management & Sustainability.

Please join us on Thursday, 21st April 2016 from 3.30 to 5pm at the Business School South Atrium to celebrate this exciting achievement, and to thank all those involved for their hard work and commitment. All this over light refreshments and buffet.

The standard sets out the framework for effective environmental management systems that focus on meeting compliance obligations and enhancing environmental performance and places greater emphasis on how organisations integrate environmental performance into governance, management and operational processes.

Manchester Met’s certification recognises the university’s leadership in embedding environmental performance into the culture and fabric and of the institution and its curriculum. This fantastic collective result demonstrates a clear commitment to managing and improving Manchester Met’s environmental performance.
