Annual Environmental Sustainability Statement 2014-15

As part of our vision to become one of the most environmentally sustainable universities in the world, we have set ourselves some ambitious targets. At Manchester Met, we place environmental sustainability alongside graduate employability as a key priority and just as with graduate employability, we report on our progress each year in our annual statement.

Our Annual Environmental Sustainability Statement reports on the University’s progress towards our strategic aims and objectives as set out in our Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2014-2020. This includes our performance in reducing our emissions and discharges to the environment, reporting on our carbon reduction targets.

The document also highlights our key achievements including our position in the ‘People and Planet University League’ and achievement of environmental management standards including EcoCampus Gold. Our case studies will provide you with detailed information about some of the projects that have taken place on campus including some of the engagement and education work we do.

Paul Kingsmore, Director of Services said of our achievements: “We are extremely proud of our achievements and are committed to continuous improvements towards embedding Environmental Sustainability into University business.”
