This Fairtrade Fortnight we will be celebrating all things Fairtrade with a number of events and campaigns. At Manchester Met, we are a proud supporter of Fairtrade and have been a Fairtrade accredited university for many years. This year the Foundation would like us all to wake up to a Big Fairtrade Breakfast!
‘Before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world’ said Martin Luther King Jr. Maybe this morning you enjoyed…coffee from Kenya, tea from India, bananas from Colombia and juice from Brazilian oranges…hopefully they were Fairtrade!
Fifty years on from Martin Luther King’s famous speech, our lives are more closely entwined than ever. That’s why it’s a scandal that the people who grow the food we take for granted can’t always feed their own families.
Join us in showing support for Fairtrade by getting involved in some of the following or why not organise your own event? Anything from a Fairtrade Bake Off to a Fairtrade Breakfast, get together with friends and colleagues and show your support for Fairtrade. Got something planned we would be happy to support you, get in touch at email@example.com
